Susan J. (Mikkelsen) Fusco, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, formerly of Woburn, died peacefully Friday, April 6th at Hospice House of Carolina Foothills. She was 71.
Susan was born and raised in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of the late Carl and Iris (Smidt) Mikkelsen. Nearly 33 years ago she married Ernest Fusco and settled with him in Woburn. She worked in the communications office of the Woburn Nursing Center and at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, until her retirement. She was a delightful person who enjoyed the company of her family and friends. Susan was active at her parish of St. Charles in Woburn and also at St. Paul in Spartanburg, SC where she and Ernie retired to, several years ago.
The beloved wife of Ernest “Ernie” Fusco, she was a dear sister to Daisy Finstead of Fla, Alice Regensburg of Fla. and Janet Mikkelsen of Cal. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, April 14th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home, Friday 4 – 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
